Más de 184 millones de personas, más del 61 % de la población de los EE. UU., tienen probabilidades de padecer algún tipo de enfermedad cardiovascular (ECV), y se prevé que los costos totales relacionados con la ECV se triplicarán hasta alcanzar $1.8 billones para 2050, según las proyecciones informadas en dos nuevas recomendaciones presidenciales de la American Heart Association (la Asociación Americana del Corazón)
