Mitchell S.V. Elkind M.D., M.S., FAAN, FAHA

Mitchell S. V. Elkind, M.D., MS, FAHA, FAAN, is American Heart Association Chief Clinical Science Officer and a past president (served as president July 2020 - June 2021). On September 1, 2022, Dr. Elkind took a leave of absence from his position as professor of neurology and epidemiology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and attending neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York, NY to join the Association in this current role.
