Albany, NY area family honors their son with presentation of scales for at-risk infants

Donation makes it possible for families to track their babies’ weights following heart surgery

Albany NY scales donation for at-risk infants

The family of Jonathan Kirk, who passed away following a heart transplant, donated five infant scales to the neonatal intensive care unit at Albany Medical Center, a member of Albany Med Health System.  From left, at Albany Medical Center, are Jonathan Kirk’s family: his sister Kristin Mathews, a member of the Capital Region Board of Directors of the American Heart Association; Jonathan’s mother, Lisa Turnbull, and his father Don Kirk; from Albany Medical Center: Neil Devejian, M.D., pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon; Kimberley Branigan, NP, pediatric cardiology; Ellen Scheer, nurse case manager, PICU; Jess Randall, M.D., interventional cardiologist; Kendell Hitt, NP, pediatric cardiothoracic surgery; and Olga Martin, PA, cardiothoracic surgery.
